I’m currently experimenting with using some novel writing software but I can’t decide which to use. Most people recommend Scrivener, which I have tried, but it’s kind of ugly and clunky with too many buttons. I’ve also installed Plume and Manuskript, the latter of which looks the most pleasing to my eye and I think I may actually give it a try once I’ve figured everything out.
That aside, I am focusing on a new project that is separate from my previous work and based on a story I wrote a long time ago when I was a teenager. It is going to be a Fantasy Romance, but of the darker, more gruesome variety! There is a lot of work that needs to go into it, hence my exploration into novel software. Prior to that, I’ve written all my stories in Libre Writer and used multiple .odt files for each scene and to write down all my notes. I hope this will keep me more organised but I am worried it might kill some of my desire to actually write the damned story lol.
When The Fog Eats The Mountain is currently on pause until I’m ready to go back to it. I keep yo-yoing back and forth between it and other things. I think I need to have a break from it, because since I gave it a rest, I was able to pick out some of the things that needed to be changed and also made some additional alterations that really improved the coherence of the plot. I don’t know if I will write any other stories with Owen after the trilogy ends. If I do, it will likely be set in the future when he’s much older and wiser.
Yule is fast approaching and I started a new job recently so it’s been hard to focus on much in terms of writing. Hopefully the New Year will bode well.
